Mental Illness & Chemical Abuse

ICL has pioneered the provision of services that integrates rehabilitation and recovery services for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. One of the first agencies nationally to provide integrated care in residential programs, ICL primarily serves people with histories of homelessness, criminal justice involvement and/or psychiatric hospitalization.

In New York City, ICL offers residential treatment programs licensed and funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health with staff members specifically trained to provide integrated behavioral and addiction treatment services for dually-diagnosed adults.

ICL also offers a MICA residential treatment program in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

FACT:  Over 6,000 individuals were welcomed into ICL residential and housing programs from 1995 to 2009.
