Assemblyman and 2011 ICL Public Service Honoree Darryl C. Towns Receives Governor Cuomo Appointment
Governor Cuomo has appointed Assemblyman Darryl C. Towns as Commissioner and CEO of New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR). Assemblyman Towns will be one of ICL’s three honorees at our 25th Anniversary gala, Giving Voice to Independence, on May 11th. This, our ICL 2011 Public Service Honoree, will join our Corporate Honoree -- JP Morgan Chase, Beacon of Hope Honoree – ICL consumer Brenda N. and keynote speaker activist and actress Patty Duke that evening.

For the past twenty years Assemblyman Towns  has represented Brooklyn’s District 54 (East New York, Bushwick and Cypress Hills) with distinction. He has been a strong supporter of supportive housing as well as of ICL’s efforts to promote mental health awareness and empowerment of consumers over the decades.
